Rohit Sharma is a Nagpur born cricketer. He is a 31 year right handed batsman who has recently gathered praises as he ton India to win the T20 International 2018. He has even earned the nickname as ‘Hitman’ or ‘Shaana’.
He captains Mumbai Indians in Indian premier league since 2011. Earlier he was the member of Deccan Chargers from the year 2008 to 2010.
He made his debut in list – A for Deodar Trophy in the year 2005. He played for Ranji Trophy from Mumbai in the year 2006. He has started his international career at the age of 20 and made his ODI debut in the year 2007 against Ireland. He played a total of 108 ODI before playing his maiden test. He scored 264 against Sri Lanka in the ODI 2014 which was the highest individual scores in ODIs. He then scored 106 against South Africa in T20 International and became the second Indian to score a century in all three formats. He also became the only player in the world to score three double hundreds in ODIs. He is the first skipper to lead his team to the IPL title thrice.His career was clear ups and downs as he was even replaced by Suresh Raina as middle-position batsman and eventually Virat Kohli took his position as the reverse batsman. But then he regained his position by scoring triple century in 2009 Ranji Trophy and was recalled to the ODI team for the tri-nations tournament. He scored his maiden century in ODIs in the year 2010.
He was dropped off from the World Cup 2011 series because of downtrack in his performance just before the series in a match against South Africa. But he managed to get himself back in the circuit of the matches by playing fabulous in the IPL and he went on for the West Indies tour of 2011. After his experience in the IPLs and other matches, he carried his further ODI matches with full grace and maximum performance for which he not only won the Man of the Match of the various series but also gathered appraisals for having a matured performance. He has even broken the world record of scoring maximum sixes in ODI innings.
Many cricketers consider him as the hardest striker in the field. He has recently gathered a lot of appraises from many cricket personalities like Hardik Pandey, Shoaib Akhtar and many more. However Shoaib, who is also a great Pakistani bowler was trolled for taking a word of appreciation for the Indian team and especially for applauding Rohit. The tweet did not go well as some of the Pakistani fans and they started trolling him and the tweet thus got known to every corner for it’s disputable nature. Although it was a compassionate remark to the Indian team and they were really lifted up with such applauses.
