Just an 18 year old cricketer who has already started making a golden start in Indian cricket. He especially got known from his performance in the field during Indian Premier League. He hails from the Punajab team and is a middle order right handed batsman.

In February 2017 he was in the under-19 Indian team and played a fundamental role in leading India to win against England. He made his first class debut in 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy for Punjab. Next year the cricketer also made his first class debut in Ranji Trophy. He went on to play second Rnaji match also where he also bagged a century. He was prominently known after him being rising  as a Man of the Match in under-19 World cup for making the team win. He was the leading run-scorer for India with a grand total of 372 runs. He was also named the player of the tournament. He was also highlighted as Don Bradman for under-19 team when he hit such a great score. He has very well earned the award for ‘Best Junior Cricketer’ at the BCCI awards for two years in succession. Shubham was picked up by Kolkata Knights Riders for a whooping sum of Rs 1.8 crore. This was surely a nice amount to be given to any player for his debut in Indian Premier League.

He was even in news for being a huge crush of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana. She, as any other person was fascinated by his brilliant energetic batting style when he played for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Like many other newcomers to the game, Shubham’s family had sacrificed a lot to bring him into action. Shubham’s father himself wanted to be cricketer but couldn’t pursue his dreams. His father has seen his interest in the game and he had decided to train him. He even made him play 500-700 balls every day by himself. He used various techniques to teach him how to handle fast bowling and guess the middle of the bat more often. He made Shubham used to play with a single stump as his bat. He is fondly called Shubhi by his family and close friends.

Comparing his statistics and strategy, he is often said to be composed of a few shades of the very dynamic player, Virat Kohli. Quoting Shubham, he consider himself a huge fan of Sachin because when he started cricket playing Sachin was a legend. However, he like Virat for his batting style and other qualities as a captain and he even wishes to emulate like him. He is already considered as a rising star in the cricket industry.

Although he had played a handful number of matches yet things are moving very fast for this batsman. He has his lowest score as 63 in recent five matches. His batting average at the end of the second semi-final stands at 170.
